EGR 299 : Engineering Projects

This capstone course allows students to use the engineering and technical skills they have developed to solve an actual engineering team design project. Students work onsite with a mentor participating in all aspects of the design process, from initial identification of the design problem through the implementation and management of the design solution. Students use a variety of design, project management, research, manufacturing tools, test and evaluation in the completion of their project. Design projects cross disciplines and cover a variety of engineering, design, and technical subject areas. Prerequisite: 30+ credits completed in major or prior approval by the instructor. Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. Instructional Support Fee Applies. 4 credits Spring
  1. Utilize engineering tools and methods to solve complex, real world design problems using a site based learning approach.
  2. Work in an organized environment with specific educational goals.
3. Solve complex problems which require integrating many aspects of engineering.
